Celtic boss rubbishes worrying Callum McGregor rumour
By StevieMac
This season has seen quite a few injuries to important Celtic players. They have been a problem at times and altered selection choices, and probably tactics in key matches too. On a positive note, Brendan Rodgers has now provided a brilliant update, rubbishing some rumours and speculation in the process.
One of the key injuries which may well have affected some results has been that of Cameron Carter-Vickers. He has made the back four look so much stronger when he has played. His return over the last couple of games has led to improved performances and results of late.
Also significant has been the loss of Reo Hatate who has barely featured for the Hoops since this season. His most recent injury was picked up while away representing Japan at the AFC Asian Cup earlier this year. He is believed to be close to a return.
Added to that midfield injury list has been club captain Callum McGregor. He has sat out the last three matches and there had even been rumours on social media that he could be out for the rest of the season.

Rodgers' recent comments on Celtic TV about Carter-Vickers, Hatate and McGregor will be music to the ears of the supporters. As reported by the Daily Record, he said:
"Of course it's great if they're available. Each one is obviously different but when they have that knowhow and experience with how to deal with it [title run-in] then that can be key. I think the three players mentioned there are obviously hugely influential players for the team. So, it will be great to have them back and available."
Sunday sees the return of the Premiership after the international break with the Hoops away to Livingston. With the notoriously difficult artificial surface there, we may have to be patient to see all three of those players back in the starting lineup, or even coming on as a substitute. It is not the best place to make a return from injury.
It is a great boost for the Hoops to have those three players available to increase Rodgers' selection options for upcoming matches. Nicolas Kuhn is also in a good run of form and Yang Hyun-jun has now completed his two-match suspension for his red card against Hearts. Hopefully Luis Palma will return soon from his injury, giving an additional but welcome selection problem for the manager to mull over.
