Celtic boss admits to Adam Idah transfer problem
Celtic have not made a lot of smart signings in recent transfer windows, but the decision to bring in Adam Idah on loan from Norwich City might have been one of them. The Republic of Ireland international has come in and made a positive impact. He has added a new dimension to Brendan Rodgers' side and given the manager something more to work with.
Of course, it is way too early to reach any conclusions. Idah has scored five goals for the club already but these are still early days for him at Celtic Park.
He has already been successful in convincing a lot of fans though, who want to see him being signed permanently from Norwich City in the summer. There is an obstacle on that path.
Celtic are not believed to have an option to sign Idah permanently for a pre-agreed fee in his loan deal. Rodgers has pretty much confirmed that with his latest comments. As reported by Glasgow World, the Northern Irish manager said:
"We'll assess that at the end of the season. It's not all in our hands. It would need to be negotiated."
Celtic boss admits to Idah transfer problem
Idah might have made a fast start to life in Celtic colours but that does not mean that things are always going to go well. We have seen players score a bunch of goals for the Hoops early on before fading away. Albian Ajeti is a perfect example,
So, let's take some more time and see how Idah does till the end of the season. If he continues to impress then Celtic do have to try and sign him on a permanent basis though.
The striker position could undergo quite a few changes in the summer. Kyogo has not played a ton of football lately and one would not expect him to be content if things don't change in that regard soon. The same can be said about Oh Hyeon-gyu as well.
