Celtic lining up bid for former Leicester City player
One of Celtic's major issues this season has been their lack of experience. Last summer, the club did make plenty of signings but none of them had played consistent football at a top level before. Naturally, they needed time to settled down at Parkhead and a few were not able to do that at all. Hopefully, the club will not repeat that mistake in the upcoming transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers has pointed out the need for more experience on more than one occasion already. Hopefully, we will see the club recruit accordingly over the summer.
One of the players they were linked with last summer was Daniel Amartey. But a move for the former Leicester City player did not happen, as he joined Besiktas instead. Now, it appears that he is back on Celtic's radar, with his future in Turkey up in the air.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, reports in his home country claim that Rodgers will seek to reunite with Amartey. Celtic are lining up a renewed bid for the Ghana international.

Amartey is 29 years of age and has played 52 times for the Ghana national team. He also made almost 150 appearances for Leicester City, with the majority of them coming under the management of Rodgers.
Amartey is a versatile player. He can play both as a centre-back and as a defensive midfielder, both positions the Hoops could do with some more depth in.
That being said, one cannot overlook his history of fitness issues either. That is something Celtic must consider before making any move for Amartey.
Overall, Amartey feels like a decent signing for Celtic, if they can bring him in for a decent transfer fee and he manages to remain fit. He would add some much-needed experience to a squad full of youngsters.
