Joe Hart said goodbye to football with a clean sheet at Hampden Park to help Celtic to a 1-0 win over the Rangers and Scottish Cup triumph. The Englishman might have arrived at Parkhead amid a lot of doubts but he had a fantastic three-year stint in Glasgow, winning seven trophies and retiring as an absolute fan favourite.

Now, Celtic have the tough task of replacing Hart. It is not just replacing his quality between the posts though, but also his experience and leadership abilities.

Celtic have been linked with plenty of goalkeepers over the past few months. Some high-profile name and others not quite so much.

One of the more high-profile names in that list is that of Caoimhin Kelleher. The highly-rated Republic of Ireland international has impressed whenever given a chance and played a decent bit of football this season. But he firmly remains the cover option when Alisson Becker is fit and available.

Caoimhin Kelleher's Liverpool stance offers boost to Celtic

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are long-term fans of Kelleher. The 25-year-old views this summer as the ideal time to move away from Liverpool if he is to become the first-choice goalkeeper at another club and also the starter for the Republic of Ireland.

Kelleher is a fantastic goalkeeper without doubt and he could solve Celtic's issues between the posts for years to come. That being said, it would be very difficult for the Hoops to sign him.

If he was to leave Liverpool, there would be plenty of teams looking to sign him. On the other hand, it would get a significant transfer fee, potentially north of £15 million, to convince the Anfield side to part ways with the talented Irishman as well. So, all things considered, Celtic have a mountain to climb if they are to bring Kelleher to Glasgow.
