Caoimhin Kelleher drops Liverpool exit hint amid Celtic links
Celtic will need to find a replacement for Joe Hart this summer with the Englishman retiring from the game, bringing an end to his legendary career. He spent the past three seasons being the number one for the Hoops and played a vital part not just on the pitch but as a leader as well. Overall, he finished his time at Parkhead with seven trophies, including three league titles.
It goes without saying that Celtic have a tough task when it comes to finding a replacement for Hart. Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher is someone the Hoops have been linked with for quite some time.
Kelleher has played a decent bit of football for Liverpool this season. But when Alisson Becker is fit and available, the Irish international is the second-choice goalkeeper for the Anfield side.
Kelleher seems to be looking to be a number one goalkeeper though and might even consider leaving Liverpool in order to make that happen. As reported by the Irish Independent, he said in an interview with The Athletic:
"It would be great if that (being first choice) happened at Liverpool, but I’m not silly. I know that Ali has been the best goalkeeper in the world for years.
“I’ve had such an amazing time at Liverpool. It’s been a crazy journey for me and one that I’ve absolutely loved. Whether it’s here at Liverpool or somewhere else, I do feel the next step for me is to be a No 1."

Kelleher has proven that he is very capable of starting, whenever given a chance at Liverpool. But at the same time, one cannot overlook the fact that Alisson has been one of the very best goalkeepers in the world for years now.
It is going to be a summer of change for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is leaving the club after a glorious run and will be replaced by Arne Slot. It remains to be seen how things play out regarding Kelleher and his future at Anfield.
Someone like Kelleher would be an excellent signing for Celtic, if they can bring him to Parkhead. Of course, making that happen would be very difficult. So, let's see how the situation evolves moving forward.
