Brendan Rodgers hints at handing Celtic Park debut vs Kilmarnock
By StevieMac
As Celtic look to continue a return to form their next challenge is a home league match against Kilmarnock at the weekend. With several players returning from injury and international duty, there will be plenty of them looking forward to a game at Parkhead in front of the home fans. Brendan Rodgers has hinted that one player in particular might have a lot to look forward to.
Adam Idah is that player. He has got off to a good start at Celtic since joining on a short-term loan deal from Norwich City on winter deadline day. Three games in, he has two goals and an assist to his name. That's a decent return.
It is a better record and perhaps more game time than many fans anticipated when news of his signing broke in January. Rodgers changed his formation against St Mirren to fit both Idah and Kyogo into his starting XI.
That gave the Republic of Ireland international his second start for the Hoops. And next up might be a home debut.
Rodgers hints at handing Celtic Park debut vs Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock have been a bit of a bogey team for Celtic this season, having picked up two wins against Rodgers' side already. Although it was a 3-1 win for the Hoops when they last played at Parkhead in October.
Rodgers has hinted that Idah could be making his home debut at the weekend. As reported by the club's website, he said to Celtic TV:
"I’m sure he’s really looking forward to it.
"As a guy that’s come in really looking forward to playing for Celtic, he’s obviously had three tough away games where he’s been involved.’
“So I’m sure he’ll be looking forward to Celtic Park at the weekend."
We will have to wait to see if it is as a substitute or a starter that Idah features this weekend, either with or instead of Kyogo. He deserves his chance and could do well against the well-organised Kilmarnock defence. Let's just hope he can add to his goal and assists tally in front of the home supporters.
