The Celtic season rolls on with a double still very much a possibility. A 2-0 away win over St Mirren secured a home quarter-final Scottish Cup tie against Livingston. Also, the late penalty goal from Adam Idah in midweek sealed a win at Easter Road against Hibernian, retaining the top spot in the league table in the process.

Performances haven’t been great of late, the win against St Mirren showed more promise though. The Hoops have been lacking a few key players recently through injury and international duty at the AFC Asian Cup.

Although some injury absences will continue, the players are now back from international duty. And other than the injured Reo Hatate, have all had some game time by now.

The other promising feature for fans and Brendan Rodgers is the signs of some key players returning to form. A goal and plenty of important touches for Kyogo against St Mirren for example. On the other hand, another player put in a top performance, drawing all the plaudits and some out-of-this-world praise.

Rodgers full of praise for Celtic's 'Superman'

Joe Hart has had his critics of late and a new goalkeeper should very much be on the transfer target list. The Englishman though showed all the character, strength and goalkeeping skills he has in his display in Paisley. One particular save, diving low and right to palm away an overhead effort from Alex Gogic stopped an almost certain goal.

Hart’s display attracted praise from fans, teammates and Rodgers. On Instagram, Luis Palma labelled the former England number one as 'Superman' in the comments.

On the other hand, Rodgers referred to Hart as 'brilliant' in his post-match interview. As reported by TBR Football, the Celtic manager said on Viaplay Sports:

"He’s been brilliant. He’s so clean. Anything that comes in he takes the pressure off.

“Some of the teams put in real quality crosses and he deals with that really well."

It was a great display from Hart. The Englishman's current contract expires at the end of this season. While no decision has yet been taken on the player's future, it is still likely that the Hoops will be looking for a new goalkeeper. In the meantime though, if the 36-year-old keeps up such terrific form, he’ll continue to be a key player for Rodgers' team.
