There was no cup upset in sight at Parkhead, as Celtic got themselves a comfortable win over Buckie Thistle. Brendan Rodgers' side have been very inconsistent this season so fans were unsure which version would turn up after the winter break. Judging by this performance, it looks like they are ready to go.

There were five goalscorers for Celtic on the day and it was a healthy balance. Starters like Kyogo and Luis Palma found the back of the net, as did youngsters like Paulo Bernardo and Odin Thiago Holm. But the most notable scorer of the game was Rocco Vata.

Even a few days ago, Vata was expected to leave Celtic this January. He is in the final six months of his contract and had not made a single appearance for the club in the first half of the season.

Things might have taken an unexpected turn recently though. Firstly, rumours broke out that Celtic were considering extending Vata's contract. And then he made an appearance in the Scottish Cup against Buckie Thistle, his first of the season. He certainly boosted his future chances by scoring.

Have fortunes turned around for Vata at Celtic. And could this be a start of a run in and around the first-team for the youngster, who has been a standout in the B Team this season?

It has certainly been confusing as to why Vata has not gotten more chances this season. Some thing must have changed over the winter break though.

it remains to be seen what materialises from here. It is still very possible that he could leave, with a number of Italian clubs believed to be interested in signing Vata. But his chances of staying at Celtic look much better now than they did even a few days ago.
