There must have been nerves going into the game between Celtic and Hearts. Brendan Rodgers' side had had a tough time against them earlier this sesson and the fans did not want to see a repeat. The Hoops have looked like a more confident side in recent weeks though and they managed to get the job done to put the pressure on the Rangers.

Celtic walked out with a 3-0 victory against Hearts. Kyogo scored a brace early in the first half to calm any nerves that might have been there. A late penalty from Matt O'Riley put the game beyond any doubt.

It remains to be seen what the Rangers do when they take on Kilmarnock later. Celtic might have the chance to end the title race at Parkhead though.

Of course, home advantage counts for a lot in games like these. And one can expect a vintage Parkhead atmosphere when Celtic and the Rangers take to the pitch next weekend. The supporters will be the 12th man for Rodgers' team.

Rodgers makes claim about Celtic fans ahead of Glasgow Derby

Rodgers sounded delighted with the atmosphere in the game against Hearts. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said in his post-match interview with BBC Radio Scotland:

"It was very pleasing. There was a great energy in the stadium today and the supporters were brilliant for us. Right from the off they got behind the team and the players responded to that."

Rodgers will be expected something similar next weekend as well, as he said looking forward to the Glasgow Derby:

"Looking towards next week, we’ll recover a little bit, we’ll analyse, have a really good week’s training and then it’s going to be absolutely on fire here next weekend."

One can rely on the Celtic fans to bring their best next weekend. The occasion seems to be absoluteluy perfect for a classic Glasgow Derby. Hopefully, the team will bring their A-game as well.

Celtic almost got the win away at Ibrox the last time the two teams faced. But it ended in a 3-3 draw. It is time to finish the job at Parkhead and win a third-straight Scottish Premiership title.
