Celtic maintained their winning start to the season with a 5-2 win over Falkirk this weekend. That makes it eight wins out of eight for Brendan Rodgers' side. It was not an easy outing for the Hoops though. They fielded a very different starting XI and that showed in the first half. The Scottish champions went into the break down two goals to one.

Fortunately, Celtic's quality showed through in the second half. Both Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah scored braces to win the game for Rodgers' side.

So, while Celtic did stumble, it ended in a win. That is what matters most. Now, they know a few areas where they need to work on. And it was not a full-strength team in the first place.

On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund must not have enjoyed how things played out for them this weekend. They lost 5-1 to VfB Stuttgart. The result leaves them sitting at 8th in the Bundesliga table and comes just a little over a week before they take on Celtic.

Of course, the away trip to Borussia Dortmund is the toughest game on Celtic's Champions League calendar in the first phase of the competition. But considering this weekend's result, there might be a chance for Rodgers' side to get themselves a positive result away in Germany.

Borussia Dortmund might have played in the Champions League final last season but they have had a change in manager, with Nuri Sahin now sitting in the hot seat. Not only that, but they have lost plenty of experience as well.

Even then, Celtic will be heavy underdogs when up against Borussia Dortmund. That is a situation they are used to being in though. That did not stop them from getting a draw against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last season.
