Bold Ange Postecoglou claim made after Celtic win
Leaving Celtic must not have been an easy decision for Ange Postecoglou but this weekend was a good reminder of why he chose to make it. The Australian manager masterminded a 3-0 win for Tottenham Hotspur against Erik ten Hag's Manchester United away at Old Trafford. It does not get better than that for someone who did not get his chance in Europe until that memorable summer of 2021.
As for Celtic, they are flying at the moment as well. And truth be told, Postecoglou's departure no longer looks like the disaster that many predicted it to be.
Brendan Rodgers has done a remarkable job since arriving at Celtic Park, albeit a shaky first season. This time around, the Hoops are looking absolutely brilliant.
They won 6-0 this weekend away in Perth against St Johnstone. That result makes it nine wins out of nine for Celtic this season. That includes a 5-1 win in the Champions League and a 3-0 victory over the Rangers in the first Glasgow Derby of the campaign. Of course, it is still early days, but many are already wondering if this team is better than Postecoglou's side, which lifted five trophies in two years.

Allan Preston appears to believe that it is. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, when asked if the current iteration of Celtic is better than the team Postecoglou assembled in Scotland, the BBC Sportsound pundit said:
"Yeah, I honestly think so. I think when Brendan came in initially, it was a lot of Ange’s players, and they still wanted to play Ange’s way. That’s not Brendan’s way; they are two different styles.
"But having watched Celtic in the close season – I watched the games against Chelsea and Man City. Yes they are friendlies but the way they knocked the ball about, I thought ‘wow’ and wondered whether they could do it back in Scotland. They have, they’ve absolutely done it."
Of course, it is way too early to even discuss this. Postecoglou's team won five trophies while playing some incredible football throughout. It has only been nine games this season.
All Celtic need to be worried about right now is finding a way to win the next game. That is against Borussia Dortmund away at Signal Iduna Park in the Champions League.
