Kieran Tierney is one of the best players ever to have come through the Celtic youth system. He became a superstar for the Hoops, winning a lot of silverware with the Glasgow giants, before making a high-profile £25 million move to Arsenal in the summer of 2019. Yet, speculation regarding a potential return has never gone away.

Now, it looks like Tierney's time at Arsenal is set to come to an end. And if the speculation is accurate then they are ready to part ways with him for a bargain transfer fee.

It is a fraction of what they had shelled out to sign the Scottish international from Celtic around half a decade back. As reported by The Sunday Post [print edition page 65] (via 67 Hail Hail), it seems Arsenal are willing to part ways with Tierney for a £10 million transfer fee.

Of course, even that would be a record transfer fee for Celtic. But at least it is a realistic figure that one would expect the club to be able to meet if they wanted to.

Now, the big question is whether Celtic will make a move for Tierney this summer. There are pros and cons.

There is no doubt that Tierney is a terrific player when fit and available, and he would immediately be the best left-back at Celtic if he was to make a return. Having played in the Premier League and La Liga, one would expect that he has improved a lot since he left Glasgow as well. And of course, he is a very popular figure amongst the supporters.

On the other hand, Tierney has a worrying fitness record. Shelling out that kind of a transfer fee on him would be a risk for sure.
