Kieran Tierney's future at Arsenal has been up in the air for some time now. Not too long ago, he was a key player for the club and considered by many as a future captain. But constant fitness issues combined with the arrival of players like Oleksandr Zinchenko have seen him slip down the pecking order in Mikel Arteta's side. There have been rumours about a possible return to Celtic. Could it actually materialise?

Tierney is currently out on loan at Real Sociedad. While the Scot has done well for the most part, his injury problems have continued in Spain as well.

On the other hand, Arsenal continue to thrive even without Tierney in the squad. What could that mean for the future for the Scotsman?

As reported by TEAMtalk, Arsenal are planning to part with Tierney. He will return to the club in the summer but has already been informed that he will be available for transfer. Offers in the region of £25 million will be considered.

Now, even if Celtic are interested in bringing back Tierney and he has never ruled out the possibility of it happening either, it is pretty much impossible for the Hoops to make that kind of an offer. It is the same fee for which he left the club back in 2019.

On the other hand, that type of transfer fee should not be a problem for Premier League clubs like Aston Villa, who are also believed to be interested in Tierney. So, do not be surprised if he plays his football in Birmingham from next season.

The rumours of Tierney making a comeback to Celtic refuse to go away. But it looks like any sort of return would have to wait or would only be possible on a loan deal.
