Another Celtic player suffers injury in training
Brendan Rodgers has been on the receiving end of quite a bit of criticism this season and a lot of it is fair. The Northern Irishman simply has not been able to get the best out of a lot of players who were flying under the manangement of Ange Postecoglou. But one cannot simply overlook the constant injury problems he has had to deal with, never finding his best playing XI as a result.
Celtic have had key starters out injured throughout the season. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate have rarely been available. Players like Daizen Maeda, Greg Taylor, Alistair Johnston, Callum McGregor and more have also spent or continue to spend time on the sidelines.
Recently, Luis Palma suffered an injury in training. And there have been suggestions that he could be out for a while.
He is not the only one to have picked up a knock in training. Liam Scales has joined that list as well. As reported by Football Scotland, Rodgers told the press:
"Liam Scales will miss the game we think, he's picked up a knock in training. He's been so robust and everything about him has been great since he came into the team. So sadly he misses this game because he's played virtually every other minute. He should be back after the international break."

Scales is one of the few players who has benefited from the arrival of Rodgers at Celtic Park. He had spent the previous campaign out on loan at Aberdeen and was expected to leave in the summer once again, whether on another temporary spell or permanently.
A return to Aberdeen was believed to be a possibility but a number of injuries at centre-back for Celtic meant that a move did not materialise. Instead, Scales found himself in the starting XI and he took the opportunity with both hands, putting in some impressive displays and solidifying himself as a starter.
Scales has been criticised for his performances in recent weeks but has remained a starter. And to be honest, Celtic might not have a replacement for him at this point.
