Ange Postecoglou signing in talks to leave Celtic
Celtic signed a number of fantastic players during Ange Postecoglou's run as the manager of the club and they continue to reap the rewards even though the Australian has left, joining Tottenham Hotspur last summer. Brendan Rodgers arrived as his replacement and was able to guide the Hoops to a Premiership and Scottish Cup despite showcasing some inconsistent form throughout the course of the campaign.
Not all players signed by Celtic during the Postecoglou era proved to be success stories at Parkhead though. One such player seems to be heading for the exit door this summer.
Oh Hyeon-gyu was signed in early 2023. The South Korean striker was brought in to take Giorgos Giakoumakis' place in the squad, with the Greek forward leaving for the MLS.
Oh has shown flashes of quality since then, but overall, he has not managed to establish himself as a regular in the Celtic first-team. And it looks like his time at Parkhead might be coming to an end soon.
Ange Postecoglou signing in talks to leave Celtic
As reported by the Daily Record, Belgian sources have confirmed that talks have already begun over a potential move and Genk are keen to sign Oh. They have made him one of their top targets. It remains to be seen if it would be a loan deal or a permanent move, and that depends upon Celtic's stance.
To be honest, it might make sense for all parties involved for Oh to leave the club in the summer. He simply is not playing enough football at the moment.
Following the arrival of Adam Idah on loan from Norwich City in the winter, Oh barely featured for Celtic. It remains to be seen whether Celtic are able to sign the Irish strker on a permanent basis this summer or not.
