It would be safe to say that many Celtic fans are already missing the Ange Postecoglou era. The team have taken several steps back since his move to Tottenham Hotspur and despite winning the treble last season, it looks like it is time for a rebuild. Thus, signings are expected to be made in January while many could head for the exit door as well.

One of Postecoglou's biggest strengths is his eye for talent. Celtic made a number of exceptional signings during his time as manager of the club.

That does not mean every move worked out though. One which certainly did not was the signing of Alexandro Bernabei from Lanus for a transfer fee believed to be around £3.75 million. In the process, he became Celtic's first ever Argentine player.

Bernabei did not feature much under the management of Postecoglou. That has remained the case since Brendan Rodgers' arrival as well. And his time at Parkhead looks set to come to an end next month.

Postecoglou signing set for Celtic exit in January

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Bernabei is set to make a January exit from Celtic. There is interest in the left-back from clubs in Argentina and Italy.

When Bernabei was signed, he was expected to compete with Greg Taylor for the starting left-back spot in the team. That has never happened.

In fact, Bernabei has barely featured for Celtic. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 23 appearances for the club and played 1215 minutes of football in total.

Bernabei is decent going forward but there are a lot of question marks about the defensive side of his game. With Celtic expected to sign another left-back in January as well, it would make sense for all parties to part ways next month.
