Ange Postecoglou might not have been at Celtic Park for a long time but he certainly left his mark at the club, winning five trophies in two seasons, including a historic domestic treble. One of the main reasons the Australian's time at Parkhead is celebrated by the fans is because of the signings they made under his management.

The Hoops brought in players like Kyogo, Matt O'Riley, Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Joe Hart, Carl Starfelt, Reo Hatate, Jota, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Liel Abada, Josip Juranovic, Aaron Mooy, Alistair Johnston and many others within those two years. It goes without saying that there were plenty of good recruitment decisions made.

At the same time though, that does not mean that every signing from the Postecoglou era worked out. There are some who did not make any impact at Parkhead.

Benjamin Siegrist is someone who falls under that category. It had seemed like a bit of a no-brainer to sign him as a free agent after an impressive spell at Dundee United. Many even thought that he would go on to take Joe Hart's place in the starting XI. Instead, the Swiss goalkeeper has made two appearances since his 2022 arrival and none this season.

It looks like Pittodrie Stadium could be a potential destination for the Celtic goalkeeper. As reported by the Daily Record, Aberdeen could move for Siegrist if Kelle Roos leaves. The 31-year-old Dutchman is out of contract in the summer and it looks increasingly likely that he will be moving on although he wants to talk to incoming manager Jimmy Thelin.

Aberdeen could be a solid landing spot for Siegrist. He already has experience in the Premiership and should not have much of a problem making an adjustment.

Of course, Siegrist leaving would not be a major blow for Celtic either considering the amount of football he has played over the past two seasons. They might need to bring in a cover goalkeeper to take his spot in the squad though, unless they decide to promote someone already on their books.
