Ange Postecoglou earned a lot of plaudits for his eye for talent during his time as Celtic manager and rightfully so. The club signed a number of players over those two seasons, who went on to become key parts of the team. The Australian also deserves a ton of credit for bringing the careers of some players back on track as well.

Joe Hart has to be one of them. The Englishman was a cover option at Tottenham Hotspur when Celtic came calling.

Vasilis Barkas had failed to impress in pre-season and it looked like Celtic had decided that a number one was needed. The decision to sign Hart did raise a lot of eyebrows though.

Hart would go on to establish himself as a key starter and leader for Celtic though, winning five trophies under the management of Postecoglou. He continues to be the number one between the posts, even after the Australian's departure. But that might not be for long.

Postecoglou signing set to leave Celtic next summer

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic will replace Hart as their first-choice goalkeeper in the summer. Rodgers is happy to keep him between the posts for the remainder of the season but the goalkeeper position is the club’s top priority for the summer transfer window.

Of course, it is worth remembering that Hart's current deal with Celtic is set to run out at the end of the ongoing season. And it would be unlike the club to hand the goalkeeper, who is set to turn 37 in April, an extension.

Nothing should ever be ruled out in football and Hart might end up earning himself an extension with his performances in the second half of the season. But for now, expect to see a new goalkeeper between the posts soon.
