The season is over, Celtic finished it off in style, with a Premiership and Scottish Cup double. Not too long ago, it was looking like Brendan Rodgers' side were going to finish trophyless but their experience and quality came through in the last few months of the campaign. One of the key players for the Hoops during this run was Adam Idah.

Idah arrived amid a lot of doubts. He was signed by Celtic in the winter, on loan from Norwich City until the end of the season.

There were many who raised their eyebrows at the signing. After all, Idah did not have a good goalscoring record at Norwich City and considering Celtic's recent recruitment, the doubts were completely understandable.

Idah has proven to be an excellent signing though. He finished the season with his 9th goal for the club, which was also the Scottish Cup winner. The only mistake Celtic made in the deal was not managing to include a buyout clause in it.

It would be an understatement to say that Idah was won the Celtic fans over. The majority of them want the club to sign him on a permanent basis.

Of course, with Celtic not having a buyout clause, they will need to agree a transfer fee with Norwich City for Idah. That puts any deal up in the air and it remains to be seen how things transpire.

Idah does not seem to be certain about the situation either but one thing that is clear is his love for Celtic. As reported by the Irish Independent, he said:

"I said I'd come here to try and score as many goals as I could, I didn't think I'd score a goal like this in front of all these fans. It's an amazing feeling.

"It's hard to put into words. Anyone here can see what it means to the fans, to the players. I've always supported Celtic, it's amazing.

"Football is tricky. I love it here, I've said it previously, it's a great club but I'm still contracted to Norwich. I'll go back in the summer and who knows?"

It would be bittersweet if Idah's time at Celtic ended with him scoring the Scottish Cup winner. It feels like he has so much more to give to the club and a lot of room to improve as well. One can only hope that the Hoops are able to reach an agreement with Norwich City and end up signing the Irishman permanently in the summer.
