5 Celtic players could leave despite transfer window ending
Celtic had a frantic end to the summer transfer window. The Hoops let it go down to the wire once again and somehow, managed to have a positive end to it. Yes, Matt O'Riley left but that was always expected. On the other hand, they shelled out a club-record fee to sign Arne Engels on deadline day. Auston Trusty and Luke McCowan were signed as well.
On the other hand, Celtic might not have gotten enough time to focus on exits before deadline day. There are some players still at the club who do not have a role in Brendan Rodgers' team.
It would be ideal if Celtic could find a new home for those players, even though we are past the deadline. They currently have five such names on their books. They are James McCarthy, Liam Shaw, Maik Nawrocki, Yang Hyun-jun and Adam Montgomery.
While the Scottish transfer window might be closed, it is still open for several other prominent leagues around Europe and the world. Clubs in Belgium, Turkey, Greece, Mexico, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Poland and more, can still sign players.

It remains to be seen how things play out. There is not much point in keeping players around, if they are not going to feature at all.
Out of the five names mentioned, Yang and Nawrocki might get some playing time, depending on the club's injury situation. The other three are pretty much completely out of the first-team picture.
That being said, Nawrocki will have a tough time getting into the team as well following the arrival of Trusty. On the other hand, the likes of Nicolas Kuhn, Luis Palma, Daizen Maeda and James Forrest, all seem to be ahead of Yang in the winger pecking order at Celtic.
