Celtic left the supporters disappointed with their activity in the January transfer window. Only two signings were made when a lot more was expected of the Hoops after what had been a shaky first half of the campaign for Brendan Rodgers' team. Nicolas Kuhn was brought in from Rapid Vienna on a permanent deal while Adam Idah was signed on a loan until the end of the season from Norwich City.

Neither signing was a high-profile one, as it seemed like Celtic were repeating the mistakes of the summer. It remains to be seen how things go from here.

Idah seems to be catching the eye with his displays though. He scored a match-winning brace against Hibernian, albeit from the spot. And retained his place in the starting XI in the following game vs St Mirren, which was another win for the Hoops.

Gordon Dalziel seems to be impressed with what he has seen from Idah. As reported by TBR Football, the pundit said on Clyde Superscoreboard:

"I like Idah. I’ve got to say, I think he’ll score goals. I think there is something about him.

“I think that will be a good signing."

One can only hope that Idah proves to be a good signing for Celtic. The Hoops are not believed to have an option to buy included in the loan deal. But there have been rumours that Norwich City would be open to parting ways with the Republic of Ireland international for a £3 million transfer fee.

Idah does seem to be someone who is cool from the spot. That is an asset for Celtic, who have struggled to find a consistent penalty taker since Josip Juranovic left.

There are other areas where Idah needs to prove himself if he is to be considered a success at Celtic. He needs to show that he can score consistently from open play, something which he struggled to do during his time at Norwich City. Let's see what the future holds.
