It looks like Celtic have finally gotten a deal done for their first signing of the January transfer window. The Hoops were expected to be quite busy this month but that has not been the case so far. A few players have departed Parkhead but nobody has arrived yet. Two weeks of the new year have passed and now that is set to change.

Celtic have been linked with players in a number of positions. Their first addition of January will be on the flanks though.

As reported by Football Scotland, Nicolas Kuhn and the winger's representatives will jet into the UK after Celtic and Rapid Vienna agreed on the finer details over the weekend. An agreement has been reached on all sides. The deal is worth just shy of £3 million and will be four years in length.

The former Bayern Munich player has impressed in the first half of the seson for Rapid Vienna. That seems to have convinced Celtic to make a move for the 24-year-old, who was one considered one of the biggest talents in German football.

The move for Kuhn has divided the opinion of the fans. Many are excited by the prospect of signing the German winger. Others believe that it was not necessary.

Celtic have plenty of options on the wings, to be honest. Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda have recently returned from injury while Luis Palma has done well. They are expected to compete for starting spots.

Yang Hyun-jun and Marco Tilio were signed in the summer but have not convinced yet. Mikey Johnston has put in some good performances but is a squad option at best. And James Forrest is no longer the player that he was in his prime.
