Celtic were pretty busy this summer, both in terms of incomings and outgoings. They brought in eight fresh faces, which included high-profile names like Kasper Schmeichel, the return of Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo on a permanent basis and the arrival of Arne Engels in a club-record £11 million transfer deal.

On the other hand, there were plenty who headed in the opposite direction in search of playing time or the next step in their careers. Gustaf Lagerbielke was one such player, joining FC Twente on a loan deal.

Lagerbielke had been signed by Celtic from IF Elfsborg last summer. It never felt like he fit into Brendan Rodgers' setup though and this exit was a long time coming.

That does not mean that Lagerbielke's fortunes have turned around completely after leaving Celtic on loan. He has not played his first minute of football for FC Twente yet. He has been left on the bench in the previous four games, one of which included a 5-0 win for his team. Yet, the Swedish international was not brought on.

Despite the rocky start at FC Twente, Lagerbielke is keeping calm and positive and does not seem to have any regrets regarding the switch. As reported by The Scottish Sun, he said:

"Not playing so far is not something I worry about.

"I'd say I'm at the best place in my career That's how I feel about my own ability, both physically, tactically, technically, mentally and everything. I feel I am in a very good place.

"In terms of football, I feel like I'm at the highest level I've been at in my life, then I just hope to show that on the pitch soon as well."

Let's see if Lagerbielke is able to get into the FC Twente team over the coming weeks and months. It is never easy to get into a defence, because managers often do not like to tweak things at the back.

To be honest, Lagerbielke could prove to be a very good player in the right system. He had his moments at Celtic as well, whether it be scoring the winner against Feyenoord or keeping a clean sheet away at Ibrox. But overall, it felt like a mistake on the part of the recruitment team and he was never the right profile for the Hoops.
