Not a lot is going right at Celtic at the moment. Of course, all of the focus has been on the board in recent weeks, as the fans want changes to be brought to the football model of the club. At this moment, they simply have not adjusted to the demands of the modern game. But it is not the only problem that needs to be sorted.
One cannot overlook the underwhelming football that Celtic continue to play game after game. There is very little to be excited about when it comes to the product on the pitch.
Admittedly, Rodgers was not dealt the best hand. But even then, it is certainly possible to play better football than what they are presenting at the moment.
It feels like a never-ending cycle of back and side passes, looking for the 'perfect' moment to move the ball up the pitch. Sometimes, it works. But almost all of the time, it makes for some pretty uninteresting football, and that is not what Celtic are known for.
'Poor' - Brendan Rodgers slammed by Celtic fans for bad decision
It would be safe to say that Celtic fans are not particularly impressed with what they have seen from the team in a long time. One fan wrote during the Hibernian game: "The lack of quality in this Celtic team is just so striking, coupled with the poor management from Rodgers we are in for a very long turgid season."
Another said, criticising the substitutions made by Rodgers on the day: "Don’t agree with Rodgers' subs at all."
All things considered, this is not a great situation for Celtic. Yes, they have been able to take a commanding lead over the Rangers. But that is more down to the Ibrox club's shortcomings rather than how well the Hoops have done.
On the contrary, Celtic have been pretty subpar throughout. At no point have they looked like a brilliant team, or a class apart from the opposition, which is what they should be in domestic competitions at the very least.
