Celtic's chance to re-sign Kelechi Iheanacho could be on the clock due to interest from another big club. The Bhoys are still yet to make a move this summer, with Martin O'Neill waiting patiently for business to be done, and there is plenty of business to do.

O'Neill was warned that Celtic need much better recruitment this summer, but that warning has not been answered at this stage, although there is plenty of time to go in the window.

Iheanacho may now go elsewhere.

Kelechi Iheanacho has officially left Celtic, with his contract expiring on June 30, and there has been talk that he is waiting for an offer from the club, preferring to return having spent the second half of the season at Parkhead.

As things stand, Celtic have only one out-and-out striker on their books, and that will be a major concern to O'Neill, but still the club has decided not to move for Iheanacho at this stage.

That may say a lot, or it may tell us that O'Neill wants to assess his options and see Iheanacho's fitness levels before making a decision, having had fitness concerns about the forward last season.

In the meantime, other clubs are said to be considering a deal for Iheanacho, with Turkish club Bursaspor now said to be eyeing a deal. According to Olay, Bursaspor have already opened talks with the 29-year-old, and they are said to be waiting on his decision.

Iheanacho has also been linked with a move back to England, and a Celtic offer does look to be forthcoming, which could lead him into a decision.

Bursaspor chief speaks on recruitment

“It might happen after the Bolu training camp. We won’t rush," Bursaspor president Enes Çelik said to the same outlet

“There were 3-year contracts worth 6-7 million euros. We said let’s think about it a little more. We want to meticulously find the most suitable one among the available options.

“The only thing left is the striker position. We will hand over the team to our coach when we go to the Bolu training camp, except for one striker.”

It's speculated that Iheanacho is that striker, and it will be interesting to see if Celtic now make an approach, or whether they tell the Nigeria international he is better off taking one of the options on the table.

Meanwhile, Celtic have a striker crisis on their hands, and it's not going to be easy to find the two or three striker signings they need before the end of this window.
