Fans are eagerly waiting for Celtic to make some substantial moves this summer. Of course, bringing back Kieran Tierney will be a major boost but let's be honest, that was largely down to the left-back's desire to return home more than anything else. It is believed that a pre-contract agreement has also been agreed with Ross Doohan, who is leaving Aberdeen at the end of his current deal.
Other than that, Celtic do not seem advanced in any talks. And the names being linked with the club have not particularly impressed the fans.
On the other hand, Celtic fans want to see the likes of Greg Taylor and Daizen Maeda be handed new deals as well. Has any progress been made in that respect? Who knows.
Celtic did make one announcement this morning. It was to do with the release of a club-themed Samba trainers. It is safe to say that the fans were not pleased and did not hesitate to let their feelings be known.
'Pathetic' - Fans unhappy with Celtic announcement
The comment section on the post was filled with replies like 'horrible' and 'pathetic'. One fan wrote: "The fans would be thrilled if you finally announce KT."
Another fan was hoping for the announcement of an extension for Maeda: "Would’ve loved the daizen announcement Celtic."
Some were open to anything else: "Announce literally anything other than this."
Of course, that just goes to show the mood around the fanbase at this point in time. Celtic might have won the double last season but there is a recognition that they need to get better over the summer.
The takeover of the Rangers is complete and one would imagine that they will be better next season. They almost have to, after the campaign that they have had. So, Celtic will need to make sure that they maintain the gap domestically while also progressing in Europe.
