It would be an understatement to say that Celtic fans are not happy right now. This is a result of a combination of factors. Of course, a general dissatisfaction has been there with how things have been run for years now. But the failure to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window and failing to qualify for the Champions League have only magnified these feelings.
The recent financial results won't help matters either. Celtic have posted both record revenue and profits, after showing a lack of ambition in the summer transfer window. The supporters are even more frustrated due to it.
Recently, the club made another separate announcement regarding a store. But as you would expect, it was met by sarcasm by a support that is not happy at the moment.
The club announced that the Argyle Street Store is closing. But next Wednesday, they will open a brand new flagship Celtic Store on Queen Street.
'One in one out' - Unhappy Celtic fans react to announcement
The reaction of the supporters to the announcement would not have come as a surprise to anybody who has been keeping up with the atmosphere around Parkhead in recent days. One wrote: "One in one out, shame it’s only with shops and not signings."
Another Celtic fan left a comment on the post saying: "How much are the tickets for the grand opening?"
So, let's just say that the supporters are not happy with anything that the club is putting out at this point in time. And the board have only themselves to blame for how bitter things seem to have become.
It remains to be seen how they respond to it. For now, it looks like the aim is to justify the transfer policy by pointing at the domestic success that has been achieved over the last couple of decades. One cannot overlook the fact though that there has been little to no competition in that time.
