This summer transfer window is expected to be a very busy one for Celtic. The Hoops need to strengthen their squad in order to continue their positive movement in the Champions League and also maintain the gap with the Rangers in Scotland, with the Ibrox club on the verge of a takeover by a US consortium involving the San Francisco 49ers.
It will be important for Celtic to make the right additions and bring in some quality and proven players to the club. On the other hand, they will also need to make sure that they part ways with those without a future in Glasgow, in order to make space in the squad.
One player who does not seem to be a part of Brendan Rodgers' plans is Luis Palma. But unfortunately, it looks like he is not in Olympiacos' long-term plans either.
The Greek club are believed to hold a buyout clause for Palma, who is currently on loan there. But as reported by The National, reports in Greece have stated that they have now informed Celtic that the Honduran winger will be returning to Glasgow when his temporary deal runs out.
One Celtic summer transfer decision already made
Thus, it looks like Celtic will have to find Palma a new home in the summer. He has not made enough of an impression with the Greek club to ensure a long-term stay there.
It remains to be seen what the long-term future holds for Palma. It is hard to imagine that he will suddenly become a part of Rodgers' plans.
That being said, he could be a short-term option. Jota is out injured at the moment and the belief is that he will remain on the sidelines for six to nine months, which means Celtic need a replacement for him.
