As we head towards the end of the season, Celtic are competing for a treble. This weekend, they will get the chance to seal the Premiership title, their fourth consecutive one, when they travel to Tannadice Park to take on Dundee United. Also, the Hoops will be in the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen. That fixture should bring up some happy memories for Brendan Rodgers and the fans.

Of course, not every club is vying for silverware at this point in the season. For many, it is about avoiding relegation.

One such club is Inverness Caledonian Thistle. They were in the Scottish Premiership just eight seasons back but now find themselves trying to avoid relegation from the third division or League One. And they have taken some help from Celtic in hopes of achieving that aim.

As reported by Inverness Caledonian Thistle on their official website, Marcus Gill has rejoined the club on emergency loan from Celtic. They thanked Chris McCart, Colin Meldrum and the Hoops for their assistance.

Of course, Gill had joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle on an emergency loan very recently. The Celtic youngster featured in last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Stenhousemuir for the League One club.

Interestingly, Gill is not the first Celtic goalkeeper that Inverness have brought in on loan this season. They have done the same with Aidan Rice earlier in the campaign as well.

It is interesting though that they did not turn towards Rice again, when they needed a goalkeeper, instead opting for Gill. Was it because they were not impressed with what they saw from the youngster, who had played in a 1-1 draw against Alloa Athletic? Or was it because Celtic were not ready to let him leave at this point in the season?
