After what happened at the Celtic AGM, it would be safe to say that the Hoops need to deliver on the pitch in order to brighten the mood around Parkhead. There is still no clarity around the managerial situation. So, it is possible that this could turn out to be Martin O'Neill final game in charge of the club, although there have been some suggestions that he could stay until the Scottish League Cup final.

To be honest, that might be the safer route. Celtic have done decently well since he has arrived. Bringing in a new manager would come with a risk of a drop-off in form. You don't want that to happen before a final. So, why not stick with what is working?

A lot of fans did not agree with the lineup that O'Neill put out against St Mirren this weekend though. Now, let's see how the team performs and if the players, who have been on the receiving end of the criticism, can prove the doubters wrong.

One of them is Kasper Schmeichel. He had a poor showing against Scotland during the international break, letting in four goals. And a lot of fans already seem to have made their judgment on the Danish goalkeeper and want Viljami Sinisalo to be given a chance. The other is Anthony Ralston.

One Celtic fan wrote: "Kasper should be nowhere near the first team."

Another said: "Ralston over Donovan and Sinaslo should be starting."

Another fan seemed to be of the same view as he questioned the same selection decisions on the part of O'Neill: "Why is Schmeichel and Ralston starting?"

Well, all we can do is wait and watch how this team performs. There are always going to be those who criticise lineups, but then, on certain days, it can be tactical and work out just fine. Hopefully, this will be one such day for the Hoops.
