This summer. Celtic fans have been left waiting for the club to make a major addition. Yes, the arrival of Kieran Tierney does fall under that category but he has returned as a free agent and largely because of his love for the Hoops more than anything else, as it has been reported in the media that he had better financial offers elsewhere.

As for the Rangers, there have been plenty of signings lately. But once again, not any that would make Celtic sit up and take notice.

Following the takeover by the US consortium, there were plenty of rumours about the Rangers bringing in big-name players and managers to catch up with Celtic. Well, there have not been any such additions so far.

Jamie Vardy is someone who has been constantly linked with the Rangers in recent times. But as it turns out, there does not seem to be much substance to that speculation. The rumour has been rubbished by one of the most reliable sources in Scottish football right now.

During an appearance on Off The Underside podcast, Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph said regarding the Vardy to Rangers claim:

"We’ve been told that any links to Rangers are not true."

So, it looks like we won't be seeing Vardy in a Rangers shirt anytime soon. Of course, a porition of their fans had been hoping that the move would happen, even though the Englishman is very much in the twilight of his career right now.

It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making any big-money moves themselves this summer. Expectations had been set high but so far, they have not been able to meet them and to be very honest, time is quickly running out in this window.
