Nicolas Kuhn has arguably been Celtic's player of the season. Of course, many would say that Daizen Maeda has edged ahead of him in recent months, and that is very possible, but overall, one cannot overlook what the German winger has achieved in this campaign, especially in the big moments as well.

He scored a match-winning brace against RB Leipzig. His goal against Bayern Munich almost secured a win over Bayern Munich away at Allianz Arena in the Champions League. He also scored against the Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final.

In recent weeks, the goals and assists have dried up a bit for Kuhn, especially compared to his form in the first half of the season. That has not stopped him from being linked with plenty of clubs around Europe.

The likes of Newcastle United, Everton, Eintracht Frankfurt and several others are rumoured to be keeping an eye on Kuhn. What does he think about the entire situation though?

Kuhn seems to be keeping his cards close to his chest. He did point out though that he has a long-term contract with Celtic, which many fans will read as a positive sign. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said to the Sunday Mirror [print edition, page 46]:

"When I signed here, I said the challenge was to win everything. And so far, it has been really great to be here, I’ve really liked it.

“Hopefully, there will be some more trophies to come this season. And my contract here runs until 2029, so I’m very much looking forward to what is ahead."

Celtic fans would not want to see Kuhn leave anytime soon. That being said, all players are available if the right transfer offer comes in. That is the reality of life at Parkhead.

It might be the right step for Kuhn to wait a bit longer as well. We have already seen the progress that he has made working with Brendan Rodgers. But there is room for improvement, as this recent dip in output is proof of. Leaving too early would be repeating a mistake many others have made before him.
