Celtic have a bit of history with Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe. The Hoops had wanted to bring him to Parkhead in the summer of 2021 but after a long-drawn saga, he decided to not make the move. Ange Postecoglou was appointed instead. Soon afterwards, he would end up joining the Magpies. It is safe to say that at the end of the day, it worked out for all four parties.

Now, it looks like Newcastle United have their eyes on a player who Celtic have been heavily linked with in recent months. That is none other than Lennon Miller.

Miller has been a standout for Motherwell. At 18 years of age, he is not only a starter for the club but has also captained them on a few occasions, and not looked out of place with the armband on.

That has seen him draw the interest of many teams. As reported by TBR Football, both Newcastle United and Celtic are keen on Miller. The Magpies see him as a player with huge potential. More than half the Premier League have watched him play for Motherwell this term.

Miller is a fantastic talent and if Celtic are serious about having a strong Scottish core in the team, he is the type of player they need to sign for the future. That being said, the competition for his signature is remarkable.

So, it would be a bit of a surprise if Celtic do end up winning the race to sign Miller. That being said, if the youngster decides to remain in Scotland, Parkhead would be his most likely destination.

Plenty of Scottish youngsters have left for the top five European leagues in recent years and become successes. Rarely anyone had the hype that surrounds Miller.
