Napoli won their second Scudetto in three years. Even more impressively, they did it with a very different unit. Gone were the faces of the previous triumph like Luciano Spaletti, Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. They had been replaced by Antonio Conte, Romelu Lukaku and Scottish international Scott McTominay. Now, the Italians will look to build on this success and there is some bad news for Celtic in that regard.

It is no secret that Celtic are looking to sign another winger this summer. One of the players they have been linked with is Borja Sainz of Norwich City.

Celtic have been linked with Sainz going back to February. But now, it looks like teams with more financial muscle are in the race to sign the Spaniard.

As reported by Sky Sports, Napoli and Porto have made bids for Sainz. Negotiations are believed to be ongoing with both clubs with bids from other interested teams also anticipated.

Rarely have we seen Celtic win transfer races like this where clubs like Napoli and Porto are not only interested but have also submitted bids. It would come as a major surprise if the Hoops' interest in Sainz leads to anywhere of substance from this point.

Instead, it looks like Celtic might move their focus elsewhere and try to sign other players. It has already been claimed that they made an offer to sign Nilson Angulo from Anderlecht. They have also been linked with wingers like Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sondre Orjasaeter.

It remains to be seen who Celtic ultimately end up making a serious push to sign. Of course, there is a long time left in this summer transfer window and plenty of fresh names could crop up before a signing is made, if it is made.
