Every summer, Celtic fans are worried that one or more of the club's key players could leave. This time around, the likes of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Nicolas Kuhn and Arne Engels have all been linked with moves away. But considering how things have turned out for some of their high-profile departees, they should carefully consider any potential exit.

Last summer, the big-money move away from Celtic was that of Matt O'Riley. The Danish international joined Brighton & Hove Albion for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of €29 million.

O'Riley dealt with an injury early on in the season though and as a result, things did not get off to a good start. It was only towards the end of the campaign that he found his feet at Brighton and was starting games on a consistent basis.

Now, he is already being linked with a move away. And as reported by Lyall Thomas, Brighton have received a €30 million offer from Napoli for O’Riley. The Danish international is still considered important to the Seagull's project but the club will entertain offers that meet their valuation.

Napoli are the Serie A champions, and in Antonio Conte, they have a manager capable of getting the best out of players. Just look at how he has transformed the game of Scott McTominay, who has gone from a heavily-criticised midfielder at Manchester United to the best player in Italy within the space of a season.

So, it is not hard to see why a move to Napoli might attract O'Riley. Now, it remains to be seen what kind of a transfer fee Brighton want to part ways with a player they signed just last summer.

As for Celtic, a O'Riley transfer could be important as well. That is because the club are believed to hold a sell-on clause.
