Moussa Dembele is still just 28 years of age but it feels like he has already gone through a few careers worth of football. He played many seasons at the top level for Lyon and was linked with some of the Premier League's best on a consistent basis at one time. He eliminated Manchester City from the Champions League. He spent time on loan at Atletico Madrid. And now, he finds himself at Al-Ettifaq. But it is quite clear that the Frenchman still has fond memories from his time at Celtic.

Dembele regularly posts about Celtic on his social media. He also likes to take a dig or two at the Rangers from time to time.

He was involved in one of the most iconic moments in the Glasgow Derby's history. Dembele scored a fantastic hattrick against the Rangers.

While he would not have imagined playing his football in Scotland at one point, he enjoyed it a lot. As reported by Football Scotland, Dembele said:

"Everything came quickly, and I had to decide with my family and friends and make sure I took the right decision for my career. Obviously, if you had told me before that I would play in Scotland then I would have said no!

"But I think it was one of the best experiences of my life playing for Celtic. I enjoyed those two years and I’m still a big fan of Celtic and keep following the club every game. If you’d told me before my journey would be that great, I’d have signed straight away.

"The best memory of my career was scoring three goals against Rangers. There was scoring the winner against St Etienne, scoring two in the quarter-finals (of the Champions League) for Lyon against Manchester City – there are many of them but if I had to choose one, it would probably be the hat-trick against Rangers."

Dembele would eventually end up leaving Celtic to join Lyon. And while he had some good years playing in France, one could argue that his career has not had the trajectory that was expected. Not many could have predicted that he would be out of European football in his prime. The Hoops fans have plenty of great memories to cherish though.

On the other hand, Celtic have been pretty fortunate when it comes to the strikers that they have had since Dembele left. Odsonne Edouard was his replacement and proved to be brilliant when he was performing at his best.

Then Kyogo has come in and been absolutely superb as well, especially under the management of Ange Postecoglou. And Adam Idah is showing a lot of promise as well.
