This season has been an absolute nightmare for Celtic when it comes to injuries. They have multiple players out for the long term right now. Cameron Carter-Vickers is not expected to be back in this campaign at all and might even end up missing the World Cup. On the other hand, both Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand have undergone surgeries and are expected to be out for around five months. It remains to be seen when Jota will return, having been out since April.
Now, another Celtic player has picked up a long-term injury. And in this case, he was not even at the club.
We are talking about none other than Kyle Ure. He was one loan at Scott Brown's Ayr United and was making his presence felt there. Some were already starting to view him as a future first-team player for the Hoops. But unfortunately, his momentum has been derailed.
It looks like Ure will be out for a while and Brown has confirmed that he has returned to Celtic in order to undergo rehab. The manager told Ayrshire Post:
"Unfortunately he’s picked up a bad one and is back with Celtic now to begin his rehab.
"Hopefully he’ll be back performing like he was before long because he’s a top talent and one we’ll miss.
"Others now have the chance to step in and show those levels."
Midfielder's return to Celtic officially confirmed
There is no doubt that Ure is a highly-talented player. We saw that with his performances in the Scottish Championship at Ayr United this season.
We can only wish him the best of luck in his recovery. Hopefully, Ure will be back soon and as good as he has ever been. This injury has come at a very early point in his career, which can always be worrying. That being said, he has the talent to bounce back from this setback.
On the other hand, Celtic will be hoping that there are no further injuries for them to deal with moving forward. Whether that be to players at the club or out on loan.
