The midfielder has confirmed that he plans to make a return to Celtic, while the Hoops clearly need some strengthening for sure.

It is very clear that Celtic could do with help all across the pitch right now. The Hoops have struggled for form and consistency this season. This feels like a team that needs refreshing and as soon as possible, with Hearts pulling away and the Rangers now just five points behind despite the disaster that was the Russell Martin era.

A lot of focus has been on Celtic's lack of goals up top and understandably so, with the club never really replacing Kyogo or Adam Idah. Following the injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers and the performance against Hearts, the defence is set to be a point of discussion as well.

That being said, midfield is not in a much better position either. For a long time now, we have seen Celtic struggle to control the middle of the park, especially against physical opposition.

There is also a feeling that the club have not made the most of the options available to them. Odin Thiago Holm, for example, is someone who was not given the right opportunities to develop despite being so highly rated when he arrived. He is currently out on loan at LAFC.

Holm has confirmed that the plan for him is to return to Celtic after the end of the MLS season. As reported by the Daily Record, he said in a Norwegian podcast:

"The plan is to return to Scotland after the MLS season in the United States is over, no later than December. I have a strong desire to make it happen at Celtic."

The bigger problem for Holm right now are his fitness issues though. They have actually raised some question marks over his long-term future in football, not just at Celtic.

Is Holm the solution to Celtic's problems? Probably not. He is an example though that the club have not made the most of the talent that they have brought in over the last few years.
