Celtic have been linked with a number of players over the past few weeks as we get closer to the summer transfer window. This is nothing new. But one name that appears to have re-emerged on their radar is that of Michel-Ange Balikwisha, the Belgian winger who has had an injury-riddled campaign with Royal Antwerp.

Balikwisha enjoyed a stellar 23/24 campaign and it was easy to see why he might have caught the eye of Celtic last summer, when the rumours had initially emerged. But this season, he has been able to make only eight appearances, as he has been dealing with fitness issues.

Despite that, it is believed that Celtic are continuing to scout Balikwisha. It is very clear that they rate the Belgian winger highly.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Celtic are plotting a summer move for Balikwisha. The Royal Antwerp player feels he is ready to move elsewhere and is open to a switch to the Glasgow side.

Balikwisha is a great talent, there is no doubt about that. But fans will surely be worried about his injury history, if the Hoops do end up making a move for him this summer.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that he is not the only winger that Celtic have been linked with in recent times. They were believed to be very interested in signing Sondre Orjasaeter from Sarpsborg 08 in the winter but a move did not end up materialising.

It remains to be seen if other wingers emerge on their radar between now and the opening of the summer transfer window. But it does look like the situation of Balikwisha is one worth keeping an eye on if you are a supporter of the Hoops. A move could be on the cards.
