It would be safe to say that there was a lot of hype surrounding the meeting on Monday between the Celtic Fans Collective and the club's board, with Michael Nicholson present to discuss the issues raised by the fans. And coming out of it, we are still unsure where we stand, as both groups have painted a very different picture of what was said at the event.

There were a lot of questions that were asked by the supporters in the aftermath of another failed Champions League qualification campaign as well as a summer transfer window in which the club spent barely half of what they brought in in transfer fees, despite posting record revenue and profit numbers. And it does not look like we have found the answers to any of them.

There is one situation that seems to have been cleared up during the meeting though. The outcome will not suit everybody.

It is regarding the briefing to the media regarding senior officials being unhappy with Brendan Rodgers and there being the notion that he was engineering his exit. According to the statement put out by the Celtic Fans Collective, Nicholson described it as 'closed'. It further goes on to read:

"The Club was unwilling to divulge much information although claimed a conversation took place between the Board and the Manager. The Club suggested that the allegation was unsubstantiated and did not require further investigation."

So, that is another situation which seemingly did not end up having a firm conclusion. But it has been described as 'closed'.

Well, that would not come as a surprise to many who have followed the club for a while, especially in recent times. This seems to be a solution for many of Celtic's problems.

It is what it is. The most likely outcome has always been that Rodgers will leave at the end of the season, and that might be the right step for everybody involved at this point in time to be honest.
