Ange Postecoglou knew nothing but success at Celtic. He arrived under difficult circumstances and rebuilt the team quicker than anybody could have expected. In the Australian's two-year run at Parkhead, the Hoops won five trophies. He would leave merely days after clinching the domestic treble to become Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Things have been shaky for Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur. He made a sparkling start to life in the Premier League but injuries to key players derailed their campaign and they have never rediscovered that early form.

Right now, Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in a terrible spot. The 4-0 win against Manchester City has proven to be an anomaly as they have struggled to get results. And there appears to be a genuine chance that Postecoglou could be sacked if things don't improve soon.

Micah Richards has become a popular face in the footballing media in recent years and he had a message for Postecoglou about what he needed to change from his time at Celtic, now that he was in the Premier League. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the former Manchester City defender said on The Rest is Football:

"He can tweak a style a little bit. We all have a way and a style of playing or how we want to play.

“Sometimes you don’t have the players, sometimes you have to adjust to the league that you’re in.

“When he was at Celtic, he could play that way because he was the best team, played attractive football, but now you’re in the Premier League with players who are not probably at the level of a Man City, a Liverpool or an Arsenal.

“So you have to tweak certain bits for you to go forward. And I think he has to because you don’t want to be just known as a manager who’s got one way of playing.

“And I’m not talking about changing his philosophy, I’m talking about adding defensive tweaks on a more consistent basis."

Of course, Postecoglou has never been one for pragmatism. We saw him play on the front foot even when up against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

And to be honest, we have seen him succeed in the Premier League with that style of play. The issue is that Tottenham Hotspur do not appear to have the right players at the moment.

Just take a look at their recent loss against Chelsea. They gave away a couple of penalties on the day that could have been easily avoided. Those are individual errors that Postecoglou simply can do nothing about, no matter what style of football he decides to play.
