Things are moving fast at Celtic Park right now, both in terms of arrivals and departures. Key names like Nicolas Kuhn and Greg Taylor have headed for the exit door this summer. On the other hand, five additions have been made to the first-team, including the long-awaited return of Kieran Tierney. But there still remain areas in need of strengthening.

One such area is centre-forward. The Hoops have Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah as options there. But with Jota out injured and Kuhn leaving, the Japanese international might have to move back to the flank for the time being.

That leaves Celtic lacking options up top. Idah has never really been a consistent starter for Celtic, despite managing to score 20 goals across all competitions last season. Callum Osmand has been brought in but he is unproven in the senior game.

Now, it looks like the Hoops are closing in on the signing of another striker. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Shin Yamada is set to fly in for a Celtic medical and the move should be finalised following his national team commitments.

Yamada currently plays for Kawasaki Frontale in the J-League. It is the same club from where the Hoops signed Reo Hatate in the past, so they have some good history in that sense. Will they repeat their trick with the striker? We will find out soon.

Of course, he is not the only striker that Celtic seem to be following at this point in time. Giuseppe Ambrosino of Napoli is a target as well if reports are accurate.

Let's see how long it takes for the Yamada deal to get over the line. It is very possible that they could make more additions before this one is finalised.
