Celtic fans were delighted to see Martin O'Neill back in the dugout after the poor run from Wilfried Nancy, which ended after just 33 days, a historical low point when it comes to Hoops managers. The only thing we can do is look towards the future though and the performance this weekend does provide some hope.

Celtic got back to winning ways with O'Neill back, and in style as well. A 4-0 win over Dundee United sealed the three points. It could have been so many more, and this might be a warning to the rest of the league.

That being said, one also has to recognise the need to add to this squad. So far, Julian Araujo has been the only addition of this winter. And to be fair, he started and did well against Dundee United. More fresh faces are needed though.

A move for Jocelin Ta Bi is believed to be close. But you never know until it is official. We have seen a few Celtic transfer collapses recently, something that seems to be worrying O'Neill as well.

As reported by CeltsAreHere, O'Neill said while talking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard:

"I am hopeful that we are going to get some people in, but just when you think that something might happen, things change around.

“So listen, it’s not me filibustering, it’s just me feeling that until they’re over the line, I can’t come up and say that it’s happened.

“But we obviously need to do it, even just to give help to the boys at present at the minute.

“We need some people in.

“And we are, honestly, we are working on it."

Well, it is reassuring to know that work is going on in the background. Celtic do need to make sure that something comes out of it as well though.

In the summer, the club were very inefficient when it came to their transfer business. A repeat of that is not something that the club can afford at this point in time.

They must get some signings over the line. And they must make sure that these are quality players, just not signings that have been made to fill the numbers. Let's hope that things turn out well and O'Neill goes on a great run from here.
