It is safe to say that good news has been hard to come by for Celtic in recent times. That's the kind of season it has been for them. The Hoops have not gotten much right and even when they do, it does not take long for things to go wrong again. This past week has been the perfect example of that to be very honest.

Celtic did start well under the management of Martin O'Neill, with a 4-0 win over Falkirk. That was then followed up by a 3-1 win over the Rangers to book their place in the final of the Scottish League Cup.

It was a rare positive for Celtic this season and raised some hopes that they could be getting back on track. It did not take long for the Hoops to return to Earth though.

They lost in convincing fashion in Europe, a 3-1 defeat at the hands of FC Midtjylland. And in the aftermath of the game, the Hoops were handed some injury worries as well.

Callum Osmand looks set for a spell on the sidelines as a result of the injury he picked up against FC Midtjylland. Fortunately, it looks like the situation of Arne Engels is a bit more positive.

it had been suggested that the Belgian had felt his hamstring before being taken off in midweek. As reported by The Celtic Way, O'Neill said about the situation of Engels:

"Yeah, he's a little bit sore at this moment. I think that they think that, they're hoping that he's going to be okay. I think it was just more stretching than anything else, so I think that's the case."

Well, that at least sounds positive. Engels has looked pretty good under the management of O'Neill and his delivery has been one of Celtic's best routes to the back of the opposition net. So, they would not want to see him spend any kind of time out on the sidelines at the moment. So, this is good news for the Hoops, that is for sure.
