Since his return, replacing Wilfried Nancy, Martin O'Neill has won both games. The first one was a terrific performance that saw them cruise past Dundee United 4-0. Last night's display was not nearly as good, but the Hoops did enough to clinch all three points against Falkirk with a 1-0 away win, thanks to Benjamin Nygren's goal.

Nygren has drawn a lot of criticism for his poor finishing. But he is still the club's top scorer this season with 12 goals to his name. That just goes to show how weak the Hoops' options at striker are currently. They need to bring in a reliable goalscorer in the January window.

It had looked like they wanted to bring back Kyogo from Birmingham City, but that has led nowhere as he looks set to stay in England. Since then, the club have been linked with a variety of strikers.

One profile that has caught the eye of a lot of fans is Franko Kovacevic. The Croatian striker is currently playing in Slovenia right now and has already scored 25 goals this season.

As reported by The Celtic Way, when asked whether Kovacevic is someone he would have a look at, O'Neill said:

"I think that I would, I am probably sure I have done, I have only looked at about four and a half thousand at this minute, and that is not bad since I am only in a week!

So, yes, we definitely, you can tell a mile away, we need to get a centre forward."

Judging from those comments, it looks like Kovacevic is someone who is indeed on Celtic's radar. But at the same time, it is very clear that he is not the only one.

Celtic ideally need to sign a couple of strikers in this transfer window. And considering how often they have failed to get deals done, it is not hard to understand why they might be keeping their options open and targeting multiple players at the same time.

If you ask us, Kovacevic is someone who could be a decent addition to this team. He has scored 25 goals in 28 appearances this season. One could argue that the numbers have come in Slovenia but even though, he has had to finish the chances that have been presented to him at a consistent rate. That is what Celtic need at the moment.
