Kieran Tierney has been linked with a return to Celtic on numerous occasions over the years. He came through the club's academy ranks to become a first-team regular, something that has been rare in recent times. He would then leave in 2019 to join Arsenal for a then Scottish-record £25 million transfer fee.

Tierney's time at Arsenal has been up-and-down though. During his first few years with the club, he was one of their best players and even viewed as a future captain.

But, a combination of injuries, the arrival of new players and a change in playing style has led to him losing his place in Mikel Arteta's side. He spent last season out on loan at Real Sociedad. One would have expected him to leave this summer as well but he was out injured.

There have been suggestions that Tierney will leave Arsenal on loan in January. Naturally, the idea of a return to Celtic has been doing the rounds of the rumour mill once again. But now, it looks like a Spanish club are the frontrunners in the race to sign him.

As reported by Todofichajes, Las Palmas want to sign Tierney. The talks between the three parties are reportedly at a very advanced place and if nothing goes wrong, the Spanish club will sign their third Scot, but on loan.

Las Palmas already have a couple of Scottish players in their ranks in Oli McBurnie and Scott McKenna. Also, Tierney is no stranger to the Spanish league, having spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad and he did well when fit.

Of course, if he did end up joining Las Palmas, it would be one more occasion when the Celtic return rumours have done the rounds without anything transpiring. Let's see how it plays out.
