Celtic have already won the league title following their 5-0 victory over Dundee United at the weekend. With four games to go, they are 17 points ahead of second-placed Rangers. So, the remaining matches won't have any impact on where the trophy is headed at the end of the season. But there is still a lot to play for for Brendan Rodgers' side.

Celtic's next game is against the Rangers. Of course, every Glasgow Derby is important. This one is even more so because Celtic have lost the previous two derbies. On their last visit to Ibrox, they were handed a 3-0 defeat.

Brendan Rodgers will be keen to halt that losing run at the weekend. Coming into 2025, he had only lost one Glasgow Derby in his career. He has lost two just this year. Unfortunately, he is set to be without one of his most important players on the visit to Ibrox.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic anticipate bad news on the extent of Jota's injury. The winger has already had an initial diagnosis which suggests he faces several months on the sidelines. In fact, fears are that he is facing a race against time to be fit for the start of next season.

Of course, that is bad news for Celtic. Jota returned in the summer and had quickly established himself as an important part of Rodgers' first-team plans.

He was making starts on a regular basis and scoring a lot of goals as well. Thus, it looked like he had put his Al-Ittihad and Rennes disappointments behind him and was returning to his best form.

So, the injury has come at a terrible time for Jota. We can only wish him the best in his recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.
