After losing 7-1 against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, Celtic need a positive result in Europe. Things are not going to get any easier for them though as the Hoops will travel to Italy to take on Atalanta. Gian Piero Gasperini's side have been one of the best Italian teams in recent years and won the UEFA Europa League last season by defeating an undefeated Bayer Leverkusen in the final.

So, it is clearly going to be a tough test for Celtic. Most fans are hoping that we see a change from the approach we saw against Borussia Dortmund.

Celtic often got too intricate with things and lost the ball easily, while there was too much open space at the back for Borussia Dortmund to take advantage of. In hindsight, the Hoops' strategy looked naive at best.

Leading up to the match against Atalanta, Brendan Rodgers has indicated though that he will stick to his brand of football. But some feel that he might be trying to 'pull the wool' in his interviews.

Danny Murphy played for clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, and won five trophies during his time at Anfield. Now, he works mostly as a pundit. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said on talkSPORT:

"I’m amazed at what you said before because after speaking to Brendan, meeting Brendan, the intelligent guy, the job he did, the jobs he’s done before, maybe he’s just trying to pull the wool a little bit in his interviews.

"I think we might see a different Celtic tonight and I just can’t see him going toe for toe."

We will soon find out how Celtic will approach the game against Atalanta. Of course, there is nothing wrong with sticking to a philosophy. But at the same time, it is important to be a bit more pragmatic when the occasion calls for it.

Just look at Arsenal's display against Manchester City when they saw a man sent off. Those adjustments need to be made, especially when playing against teams that have more resources and are better than you in most aspects.
