Let's be honest, this was a terrible weekend for Celtic, as they lost 2-0 against Dundee FC, allowing Hearts to stay five points clear at the top of the table. But you can always bank on the Rangers to lift the mood of the Hoops supporters in situations like this, and that is exactly what has happened. After Steven Gerrard and Danny Rohl, a third proposed managerial appointment has collapsed.
Where does it end? One definitely has to question that. With Kevin Muscat now off the table as well, it is hard to see where they go from here.
Rangers fans have done tremendously well to convince themselves that bringing in Muscat would solve their problems. Who will be the next manager that they do that with?
Well, we are not sure. There are no managers who seem to be close to the job at the moment. At least, there are no such reports at the moment.
'Laughing stock' - Rangers fans react as Kevin Muscat deal collapses
It looks like Rangers fans are not happy with the situation and that is exactly what you would expect to be, very honest. One wrote: "Laughing stock down here - I live in Kent."
Another added: "We are the laughing stock of Scottish football right now."
Who will get the Rangers' job? It is hard to even come up with a guess at this point in time. Sean Dyche is out. Gerrard is out. Rohl is out. Muscat is out. And it does not look like Derek McInnes would be interested in it either. Things have gotten bad for the Ibrox club in the past as well, but this is truly unprecedented.
Well, it looks like it is Hearts that Celtic need to be worried about this season, not the Rangers. And there are a lot of things that the Hoops need to take care of at this moment. They have lost a ton of quality and never really brought in players with similar abilities, or even close to it.
