LASK captain Sascha Horvath is still hopeful of a comeback against Celtic in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier.
The Bhoys inflicted a damaging defeat on their Austrian opponents on Wednesday night, winning 3-0 thanks to a Benjamin Nygren goal and a brace from Camilo Duran. Celtic now have one foot in the Champions League league phase, but they still have work to do in Austria on Tuesday night.
Martin O'Neill has made it clear he feels that way, telling his men they are not through yet, and that it will be a massive test in Austria. There was evidence of that at Celtic Park, with LASK having looked very dangerous at times.
The Austrian side had a goal ruled out within a minute for a narrow offside and had another disallowed later on. They also had a huge one-on-one chance, after around nine minutes, that should have been scored, and Viljami Sinisalo had to produce a big save early in the second half.
While Celtic ended up winning comfortably, it was also an open game that could have gone a very different way had it been LASK who were clinical on the night and not Celtic. Naturally, that will give the Austrian side some hope going into the second leg, even if they know it is going to be an uphill battle.
Hortvath on LASK comeback hopes
"It was a very, very bitter defeat. The defeat was far heavier than it should have been and we should have scored a goal at least.
"Now in Linz, everything has to go right for us. We have to be tighter at the back, close down their spaces more quickly and convert the chances we missed in Glasgow.
"But we won't give up. We'll do everything we can to achieve the impossible. Of course, there's still hope. If Celtic can score three goals at their own stadium, we can do it at our home too."
